Changes

So several things have changed in our household in this new year! Our wonderful, playful Rottweiler Bella was adopted by a good man who loves Rottweilers. With the baby coming, Mike and I decided that some things had to go and one of them was a large dog. Playing with Bella was a highlight of my day and its been a tough week adjusting to not having a rambunctious puppy underfoot.

Sarah, our Golden Retriever, is not responding to her medication and continues to scratch herself till she bleeds. We don’t have the money to play the game of figuring out if her scratching is from a primary skin infection or a secondary reaction to an allergy. So we’ve been in contact with a lady who runs a large rescue ranch for dogs. Sometime this week or next week we’ll be saying good-bye to Sarah as well. I can’t explain how painful it is to let these girls go. While most of the time I complain about them and they exasperate me, they are still my babies. And it’s hard when you have a certain responsibility to another being, and you can’t provide what they need.

Since Bella is out the house, Serena is back to ruling the roost. Not even Sarah is safe from the Queen Bee. The expansive pillow that is supposed to go to the dog is usually taken up the cat.

Stay Tuned. :)
