Cancun Trip 2013

In the last week of February, we G’s headed south. And just in time, because the day we left it snowed in Phoenix!!

Day 1: We did something we haven’t done before when we’ve traveled by plane. We parked long term near the airport.  Very easy. The shuttle picked us at our parking spot and we were at the airport in under 3 minutes! We made it through security no problem and ended up playing at the playground next to Starbucks in the B concourse! Went to our gate before boarding time, gate changed, trucked it to the new gate to find a very very full concourse. Finally made it on our plane an hour late! In the air…well Mike told me this as I seem to have fallen asleep during taxiing and slept during lift off. That never happens! Started cars on the kindle. Easiest flight ever! Took a little bit to get through customs especially because I forgot we had fruit. oops. Finally made it to our hotel to find out that Nana and pappy and michiel were totally delayed. Headed to the pool to swim a little. Found Trethan, my brother’s friend. Put B to bed and finally met up with Nana and Pappy. 

Day 2: We played at the kids pool, laid in the sun, had an easy day! At dinner we were entertained by a mime. He made Brenna a balloon critter from a distance. He didn't get too close. Big kudos for him. Oh and we all forgot to take pictures.

Day 3: Listened to a sales pitch for some freebies. B behaved beautifully.  Spent the rest of the day at the pool.

Day 4: Nana's Birthday: Dad set up a whole bunch of surprises but we had to get Nana out of the room for the staff to decorate it. Pappy made up a problem. We came back to the room to find the floor covered in balloons and sign that said Happy Birthday Hendrika! :) Spent the morning at the kids pool and B climbed up and down the slide. We swam and played while daddy laid in the shade all morning! Ate lunch and B fell asleep in the stroller. Risked it and moved her to the bed. Then Daddy and Mommy napped too. We all slept 3+ hours! Readied for a birthday dinner. Pappy arranged a personal golf cart! First people in the restaurant! The staff sang Nana happy birthday and even spelled her name right on her cake!
